Visiting the Edge of the World
On the morning of April 4th at 9:00 AM, the practice team visited the Deep Sea Equipment Digital Operation and Maintenance Laboratory at the Sanya Yazhou Bay Deep Sea Science and Technology Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Guided by the laboratory director, the team gained comprehensive insights into the operation of crucial offshore platforms, such as offshore oil drilling rigs and floating wind turbines. This visit provided the team members with a deeper understanding of the current development level of these platforms and emphasized the significance of building test sites.
Following this, the practice team visited the South China Sea Research Institute of Zhejiang University. The state-of-the-art facilities, particularly the anechoic water tank laboratory, left a lasting impression on the team.
Next, the team toured the Public Platform for Deep Sea Science and Technology Innovation. The advanced facilities, especially the anechoic water tank laboratory, were highly impressive.
At 1:00 PM, project group members gathered in their designated meeting rooms. They systematically reviewed the current progress of their research, engaging in thorough discussions and exchanges. Under the guidance of their group leaders, team members analyzed and discussed key technical points of their projects and began drafting their final papers and reports. The afternoon's productive discussions and exchanges yielded significant progress, providing a clearer understanding of frontier technologies in their respective research fields.
At 6:00 PM, the team arrived at the Tianya Haijiao Scenic Area. Here, they experienced the breathtaking scenery where the sky meets the sea, marveling at the wonders of nature. Team members paused at the iconic landmarks of Tianya Haijiao, capturing these unforgettable moments with their cameras for lasting memories.
On this day, the practice team made substantial progress in their projects and gained deeper insights into relevant work processes, broadening their horizons. While advancing their studies, they also enjoyed the enchanting natural beauty of Hainan Island, ending the day enriched by the sea breeze. It is anticipated that the team members will achieve satisfying results in their final reports.
