There are 34 kinds of scholarships and grants in four major categories sponsored by central government, our university, internationally renowned classification societies, shipbuilding enterprises and other enterprises and HEU alumni. The annual scholarships and grants amount to more than 17 million RMB yuan, in which, scholarships amount to more than 9 million, for enrolled students who excel morally and academically, covering 42% of the total number of undergraduates. In order to help students with financial difficulties, more than 8 million yuan of grants and other various subsidies are available each year, covering 100% of the total number of students with financial difficulties.
