DAY 6 & 7

Charting Deep Blue Dreams, Pursuing Knowledge to the Horizon

On April 5th, the closing day of the camp, project groups gathered early in their respective classrooms to start their final discussions. The morning session focused on producing the final reports. Each project group quickly formulated a reasonable division of work for their topics, laying a solid foundation for successful completion. Through hours of intense collaboration, every member showed their expertise, from data collection to analysis and report writing, ensuring each step was meticulously refined. By the end of the morning, all groups had successfully completed their reports, which were both detailed and well-structured, demonstrating team collaboration and efficiency.

In the afternoon, group members continued their work by preparing their presentations. With clear division of tasks, each group discussed and revised their content, producing well-organized, data-rich slides, which not only clearly showed their research findings but also included innovative insights, ensuring a smooth final presentation.

After a day of academic exchanges, the groups presented their work in Classroom S502. First to present was the team led by Dean Liu Songzuo on the project Bio-Carrier Adsorption-type Underwater Information Collection and Processing System Device. The nine-member group conducted in-depth research on the TAG devices for acoustic behavior recording of marine animals, covering its definition, current research status, and biological characteristics of cetaceans and crustaceans. They innovatively designed new TAG devices, proposing improvements such as tide-based dead reckoning algorithms, drone deployment systems, integrated power generation systems, and novel mapping methods for sensors and whale habitats, offering new perspectives for future TAG improvements and applications.

Next was Dean Xiong Qian's project group, which explored the High thermal efficiency combustion technology route of ammonia-hydrogen Otto cycle engines. Sixteen members delved into the technological innovations of zero-carbon ammonia-hydrogen dual-fuel engines, focusing on efficient ammonia ignition methods and suppression of ammonia escape and NOx emissions. They proposed innovative solutions coupling ammonia pyrolysis hydrogen production technology with catalytic purification principles, aiming to simultaneously improve thermal efficiency and control emissions.

The final presentation was by Professor Ma Xuan's team on the Design of Composite Low-Frequency Vibration Power Generation Device. All ten members presented their findings on harnessing low-frequency vibration energy from low-speed diesel engines. They detailed their research on energy recovery methods, quick installation and removal, and pollution control. Using finite element simulations and numerical calculations, they developed a mathematical model to identify optimal materials and operating temperatures for power generation, laying the groundwork for future integrated design of vibration power generation devices. The group's efforts resulted in a highly successful final presentation.

As night fell, everyone enjoyed a final camp dinner, celebrating the successful conclusion of their discussions with songs. Chinese and international participants sang traditional songs from their cultures, using music to bridge language and cultural gaps. A heartfelt rendition of Friends resonated with everyone, as they joined hands and sang, WE WILL BE FRIENDS FOREVER!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm and contributions! This was not just an academic event but also a profound exchange of hearts and minds. Let’s look forward to our next gathering, continuing to explore and grow together in the sea of knowledge!

On the morning of April 6th, as the International College Students Science and Technology Camp concluded, members prepared to embark on their respective journeys. Though parting is imminent, the cherished memories of shared efforts, knowledge exchange, encouragement, and growth will remain forever in our hearts. These valuable experiences will shine as a bright chapter in our lives. May our friendships, like this exchange, continue to progress and flourish. We eagerly anticipate reuniting in the near future to create new stories together.
