During the winter break, the Joint Institute organized six course development seminars, evaluated the establishment of 17 new courses for the Spring 2023 semester including Ship Resistance and Propulsion, and held trial lectures for 29 newly appointed teachers. The course team conducted a detailed comparative analysis of courses in both Chinese and English, leading to enhancements in course content and teaching methodologies. Institute leaders, department heads, and experts provided feedback and recommendations on course development and the trial lectures of new teachers, which facilitated a deeper understanding of advanced British educational practices and teaching philosophies. This initiative has been crucial in improving the quality of course development, establishing high-quality educational resources, enhancing talent training capabilities, and promoting the construction of an international curriculum system at the Joint Institute, which is guided by critical thinking and independent learning.
